Based on a recent report by Horace Mann (see graph and link to full report below), educators’ workloads have increased, job satisfaction has decreased, and a reported 27% of educators are considering leaving the profession at least on a temporary basis due to COVID-19.

If you find yourself hiring a new educator, you are a recent hire (in the last 3 years), or you know of someone that has recently started the profession, the TCOE encourages these new educators to sign up for our New Teacher Tuesday mentoring program that will be held the first morning (August 3rd, 2021) of the MTTIA Conference. The training is appropriate for all new transportation-related teaching professionals at both the secondary and post-secondary levels.

Both new and experienced educators should attend the full MTTIA Conference scheduled for August 3-5, 2021. It is a great resource for hands-on and face-to-face professional development for those in transportation-related education, and meets training requirements and accreditation standards for ASE and others.
